U6- ARCHITECTURE OF THE FUTURE.

THE FUTUR! this mystery that fascinates us all and about which we never stop wondering. The vagueness that there is around the future always pushes us to live in the excitement and the desire to discover what the next day has in store for us and then what life is hiding from us.

As I mentioned before, the future is always a point of interrogation for us, but us as young future architects, we are even more attracted and curious to know the future of architecture; when we will become architects and start designing buildings for example. No one could hide the evolution of architecture in our times, we can find many revolutionary constructions and methods used.

—>The general vision of humans about the future of architecture: Generally when we ask a person how she imagines the architecture of future, the automatic answer is futuristic buildings, with futuristic technologies and new designs. And that’s it, as we all know, the technology is what’s going to lead us the deeper we go in future.

THE MATERIALS OF THE FUTURE:

-WOOD: Wood is one of the most important natural materials, it’s natural but also resistant and anti-pollution. It’s caracterized also with low energy consomation, it’s inexpensive, and it’s eco-friendly.

-HYDROCERAMIC: It’s the combinationof hydrogel’s evaporative property with thermal mass, and the ceramic clay and fabric’s property of humidity control. This material developped by the students of IAAC has done his proofs by reducing the temperature of a room by 5 degrees.

-PROGRAMABLE CEMENT: Concrete is one of the fundaental materials in architecture and construction. This is why, Rouzbeh Shahsavari a scientist, developed a programable cement by modifying it’s formula from calcium silicate and ionic surfactants to a regulary arranged seed particles. The resulting cement is stronger and less porous, allowing a reduction in the total amount of concrete needed.

THE NEW DESIGNS OF THE HOUSES:

In the future, we will probably find designs with challenging forms and various shapes. Yet the developpement that will probably be reached by then, will allow future architects to defy the laws of physics and the laws we can possibly find until now in our normal buildings. It will be caracterized by a strong chromaticism, long dynamic lines, suggesting motion, urgency, and lyricism. Asymmetry is one of the prominent key features. It comes in walls, and corners in the form of angled cutaways. And here are some amazing futuristic houses;

-Cocoon House: It’s inspired from volcanic typography of Jeju Island and the cocoon. The house consists of 3 floors, all decorated with wood and especially glass for the futuristic side.

Cocoon House

-H3 HOUSE: Located in Athens in Greece, the design of H3 house is inspired from the passion for yachts of the owner. It’s Eco-Friendly and uses geothermal energy.

H3 HOUSE.

-The Komb House: It uses technology and materials that have minimal impact to the environment. It features solar panel heated water, energy efficient appliances, reuse of pluvial and grey water, low energy LED lighting and raised radiant flooring. It’s unique and original design make it more intersting and attention capturing, it’s composed of different spaces to play, eat, sleep and rest.

-Capital Hill Residence: designed by Zaha Hadid, It’s a luxury villa made of steel, glass and concrete, it’s located in Russia and it will probably remind us of a spaceship.

THE VALUES THAT WILL CARATERIZE THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE FUTURE:

  • SUSTAINIBILTY: is going to become a basic requirement, more than sustainable architecture for the future, we should talk about architecture for a sustainable future. Architecture will be based on eco-friendly methods and non polluant and natural materials to preserve the environment and humanity as long as possible. As lon as nature and the environment conditionate the well being of every human, we can only hope that the architecture of the future center more it’s designs and methods of creating green cities and buildings similars to the human’s natural habitat.
  • TECHNOLOGY: Technology in the future will be our leader, more than now in the present. The maddening development of technology over the years automatically leads us to believe that it will be one of the major factors in the control of various futuristic architectural projects. On the creation side, or the practical side since the technology will be integrated into the buildings or the construction created. The concrete example we can give now is smart houses; the worl smart refieres automatically to the presence of technology. You can controle everything in the house from your mobile phone for example turning on or off the lights or even more the air conditioner,…
